A digital BlizzCon will be taking place next year!

This years event unfortunately had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Blizzard Entertainment previously said that they were hoping to host an online event in the future as a substitute: and it has now been confirmed that this plan is going ahead and is set to take place in early 2021

Blizzard president J. Allen Brack announced the news in the Q&A section of Activision's second-quarter earnings call.

Brack said: "We are planning on channeling the spirit of BlizzCon into a virtual event in the early part of next year. We're really fortunate to have a passionate and engaged community that's really looking forward to what we're creating and what we're working on. And we're looking forward to sharing what the teams have been working on for that event."
