Lakers' LeBron James

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James said that the NBA wouldn’t miss President Donald Trump as a viewer after Trump said Wednesday morning that watching athletes kneel during the national anthem made him turn off the game.

“I really don’t think the basketball community are sad about losing his viewership, him viewing the game,” James said after the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night. “And that’s all I got to say.”

During the interview, the NBA star also encouraged Americans to vote and make a change in November.

“I hope everyone, no matter the race, no matter the color, no matter their sides, see what leadership that we have at the top of our country and understand that November is right around the corner, and it’s a big moment for us as Americans,” James said.

“If we continue to talk about what we want better, we want change, we have an opportunity to do that.”
