WhatsApp 'looking at tabs for stickers'

WhatsApp is reportedly set to introduce tabs for stickers.

The instant messaging service - which is owned by Facebook - is set to improve the feature for users, who could soon be able to easily find the right cartoon image to fit their mood, rather than having to scroll through pages of others first.

As reported by WABetaInfo - which goes through WhatsApp beta release files to get hints for future updates - the new feature could be on the way.

Tabs for stickers would gather icons related to a particular feeling or emotion, although they are still in development and not available to test.

Back in November, there were hints of a sticker search tool, which has yet to be unveiled.

Meanwhile, earlier this month it was revealed the messaging service is working on a new custom backgrounds tool to help prevent users from sending messages to the wrong group chat.

It will also be possible to set a brightness for the chat wallpapers to avoid being distracted by other groups.

There is no word on when the new feature will roll out, and it's not yet set to be tested.

However, it's been claimed it could arrive in time for the Linked Devices feature.

New code appeared in the beta version of the messaging app and suggested the new multi-device tool is almost ready to launch.

It simply enables users with multiple devices to log in using the same account.

It will work by the user clicking on three dots, a screen will then appear and link a new device.

WhatsApp is also working a new and improved Advanced Search Mode and interface.
