'Hitman 3's modes have been revealed

The game is set to be released in January 2021, and IO Interactive has revealed in a post on their website what modes will be in the game.

There's the 'Campaign' mode: which follows the game's storyline and takes players "on a globetrotting adventure to sprawling sandbox locations and will deliver a dramatic conclusion to the World of Assassination trilogy".

The 'Elusive Targets' mode is making a return, and involves the players having to "track down a unique target, with little-to-no help from the HUD or Instinct and hatch a plan to eliminate them on the fly", but IO teased that for 'Hitman 3' they will be "making some changes to the Elusive Target formula".

'Escalations' is another returning mode, and it involves gamers having to overcome a wide range of "complications" in order to eliminate all of their targets.

The 'Contracts' mode is described as "play-to-create", and allows players to "choose your own targets, choose how to eliminate them and then make it all happen".

Meanwhile, the 'Sniper Assassin' mode involves gamers completing a difficult challenge: they must eliminate "targets and guards without triggering an alarm".

However, one mode that won't be returning is the 'Ghost' mode: and servers for the 1v1 competitive multiplayer for 'Hitman 2' will also be shut down on August 31st.
