Mediatonic's creative director reveals what 'Fall Guys' was nearly called

Mediatonic's creative director has revealed what 'Fall Guys' was nearly called!

The platformer battle royale game has been a hit with gamers, but developer Mediatonic's creative director Jeff Tanton has revealed that the title nearly got a different name.

Tanton recently took to Twitter to discuss the game's history, including when the game was first pitched.

It turns out that the game was originally titled 'Fools Gauntlet' (although 'Stumble Chums' was another option considered), and it was originally planned to be much harsher than 'Fall Guys' ended up being. Some of the levels in the released game allow players to respawn, but in the original pitch this wasn't going to be an option. The pitch document for 'Fool's Gauntlet' stated: "Another player knocks you off the tightrope? Too bad, game over."
