'Doom Eternal's first DLC won't require the main game to play

Gamers won't need to own 'Doom Eternal' in order to play its upcoming DLC.

It was previously announced that the game will be getting its first bit of DLC, titled 'The Ancient Gods, Part One', will be released on October 20th, plus a trailer for the upcoming DLC was also unveiled during Gamescom's Opening Night Live.

Now it has been revealed that gamers don't actually need to own the main game in order to enjoy the DLC!

Developer id Software's executive producer Marty Stratton revealed this in an interview with PCGamesN, stating that they "want the DLC to reach as many people as possible. In fact, you don't even need to own Doom Eternal to buy the DLC and play it."

Game director Hugo martin also stated that the DLC will be "every bit as grand as the main game was". And described both Part One and Part Two of 'The Ancient Gods' as being "very much like a two-part film".
