EA Play is live on Steam

EA Play is now live on Steam.

The subscription service was already available on the PS4, Xbox One, and EA's own Origin storefront on PC - and it's now available on Steam, too.

As a result, subscribers are now being given the chance to play some of the publisher's best-known titles, including 'The Sims 4'.

Gamers are also being given early access to new releases and deals on some EA titles.

Subscribers can access the service for $5 a month, or $30 for a full year.

EA first announced plans to expand onto Steam in 2019, but the company's long-term ambitions have now finally come to fruition.

Meanwhile, EA recently confirmed it is "more interested than ever" in buying new studios.

The company's CFO Blake Jorgensen opened up about EA's strategy when it comes to acquiring other firms.

He said: "It is very rare that we don't get a chance to look at anything that is up for sale.

"You can imagine ... people call us and say we're thinking about selling the business or we're thinking about selling ourselves.

"We are a place that a lot of people want to come as a long-term home if they decide to sell the business. We get to look at almost everything."
