Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition coming to next-gen consoles

'Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition' has been announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

The action-adventure hack and slash video game was originally released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows last year, but it has now been confirmed a "special edition" version of the title with brand new features will be released on next generation consoles when they launch later this year.

Most notably, the updated Capcom title will include the heavily requested arrival of Vergil as a playable character, after the character won over fans in the original version of 'Devil May Cry 5'.

And on top of that, Capcom is also upping the ante on stylish action with the introduction of next generation features such as ray tracing technology and enhanced 3D audio.

Turbo Mode and Legendary Dark Knight Mode will also be added to the game as standard, as well as the inclusion of both Deluxe Edition and EX Colour Pack content.

'Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition' will be available for PlayStation 5 and both the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles, with the digital version arriving as a day one launch title for all consoles.

As of the time of writing, there is no release date confirmed for the physical version of the game, but that information will be shared at a later date.

The title will be powered by Capcom's proprietary RE Engine, which promises unparalleled realism and visual spectacle.

On next-gen consoles, the RE Engine will integrate numerous audio and visual enhancements, including increased frame rates of up to 120fps, and the ability to play in stunning 4K fidelity on supporting consoles.

Players can also experience the added sense of realism offered by the life-like reflections, shadows, and lighting of ray tracing technology, as well as benefiting from enhanced 3D audio.
