'Final Fantasy XVI's producer reveals why the trailer used in-game footage

'Final Fantasy XVI's producer reveals why the trailer used in-game footage.

A trailer for the game was unveiled during Sony's PS5 showcase earlier this month, and unlike previous game's in the franchise, it didn't focus on using pre-rendered footage.

Instead, a lot of the footage was from the actual game, even though this meant that the team making the trailer "barely did any perfecting or tuning" due to this approach taking a lot of time.

According to reports by Impress and Gamesradar, Naoki Yoshida (the game's producer) revealed during a Tokyo Games Show panel that the reason for this was to stop people worrying about the game's release date.

He had apparently read comments online that suggested that people would assume the game was nowhere near being released if they had shown a pre-rendered trailer. He then joked: "people would say something like 'well, guess I'll see you in 2035'."
