SK Gaming jungler Kim "Trick" Gang-yun announced that he is likely going to be with a different team next season.
"I'm still contracted to SK. I'm allowed to explore my options," Trick tweeted.
He noted that he's also open to offers from teams in Europe and North America, meaning Trick may be in the LEC or LCS next season.
Many fans responded and asked Trick to consider playing for the LCK. Despite SK's underwhelming performance this past year, League of Legends fans are still confident that Trick is a skilled jungler that can hold up against top competition.
Trick made a name for himself while playing for G2 in 2016 and 2017. The team became a LEC favorite around that time, often contending for top spots in the LEC. Since leaving G2, Trick has also competed with FC Schalke 04.
Trick played for SK during the 2020 season. In the Spring Split, SK came in ninth. The team slightly improved in the summer, coming in sixth. Trick and his squad qualified for the Summer Split playoffs, giving them a shot at qualifying for the 2020 World Championship. Unfortunately, SK was eliminated by S04.
Even if SK qualified for Worlds, Trick may not have been able to make the trip regardless as his passport is set to expire in the next few months.
"I've become close friends with my teammates since last split," Trick said of the 2020 season. "That's been big. It had a big impact on our performance."
Despite growing closer with his team and seeing an improvement, Trick seems open to a variety of options come 2021. While Trick's fans are continuously impressed with his talent, it's unclear if Trick will get a spot as a starting jungler next season as the LEC's jungle pool continues to grow. LCS teams looking for a proven import might want to take a close look at Trick.
