2K has promised to fix an error with unskippable adverts in 'NBA 2K21'.
The studio has issued a statement after fans complained about ads featuring in the full-price title's pre-game loading screens on all platforms.
Responding on social media, the company said: "As many are aware, in recent years ads have been integrated into 2KTV segments.
"Yesterday's 2KTV ad placement impacted our players' experience in a way we didn't intend, as these ads are not meant to run as part of the pre-game introduction.
"This will be fixed in future episodes. Thanks for your continued feedback."
Fans had complained online after an 'Oculus Quest 2' commercial ran as part of a pre-game video called 'MyTeam Season 2, Episode 7'.
The ad - which runs as the match is loading - had to be watched in full before players could edit their team's lineup.
The ad appeared just over a month after the game launched on PC and the current generation consoles, and before the upcoming Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 releases.
