Apple has officially launched the iPhone 12 with 5G.

The tech giant hosted their 'Hi, Speed' event on Tuesday (13.10.20), which saw the unveiling of the high-speed device, which can be connected to Verizon's 5G ultrawide band, which Apple claims to be the fastest system in the world with over four gigabytes per second.

As well as having a shape similar to the iPad Pro, the iPhone 12 boasts a ceramic shield that is "tougher than any smartphone glass" and the handset is "virtually impervious to heat and electricity".

Apple also unveiled the iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone Pro Max and the first-ever iPhone mini, which costs just $699.

The iPhone 12 is available to pre-order from October 16, and costs $799.
