Riot Games defends expensive ‘Valorant’ skins

The game’s first-ever “Ultra Edition” skin set, called the ElderFlame, was unveiled back in July: and the bundle costs 9,900 Valorant Points, the equivalent of approximately $100!

While some fans weren’t happy with the cost, the game’s premium content art lead, Sean Marino, has defended the price.

He told PC Gamer that skin sets are “not meant to be ‘cheap’”, and went on to state: “Part of what we take a look at for all our skins, and this is sort of a Riot-wide approach, is that we want there to feel like there’s a level of effort and care put into skins, or any cosmetic content that people engage with, that makes it feel worthwhile. We don’t want anything to feel throwaway.”
