Capcom confirms ‘Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition’ won’t support ray tracing on the Xbox Series S

Capcom confirms ‘Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition’ won’t support ray tracing on the Xbox Series S.

The next-gen version of ‘Devil May Cry 5’ (which will also include other features such as the Vergil DLC, Legendary Dark Knight difficulty, and Turbo Mode) will be available to digitally download from November 10th for Xbox Series X and November 12th for the PS5, and the physical version will be available to buy from December 1st.

Capcom have now revealed in a statement that gamers who are going to play the title on the Xbox Series X will “experience the game in 4K resolution with Direct X Ray Tracing”, however this won’t be available on Microsoft’s cheaper lower-spec next-gen console, the Xbox Series S.

Capcom stated: “While ray tracing will be available as a downloadable title update on Xbox Series X, Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition will not support ray tracing on Xbox Series S."
