The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has caused many events to be cancelled this year: including BlizzCon 2020.
Blizzard Entertainment previously announced that while the annual event won’t be taking place this year, they were working on an online replacement, with it later being revealed that BlizzConline will be taking place on February 19th and February 20th 2021.
Now more exciting news has been announced about the event: it will be free!
This is a change from the normal BlizzCon: usually fans would have to pay in order to access panels, esports events, and other features, although the opening ceremonies are free to watch.
Blizzard president J. Allen Brack said in a recent Fireside Chat video: “We want it to be a big virtual celebration, so BlizzConline will be free to watch and engage in.”
