One of the Call of Duty greats has announced he will be stepping down from professional COD.
One of the best Call of Duty players ever, Tommy “ZooMaa” Papparato, will be stepping back from competitive play for “the foreseeable future.” ZooMaa tweeted explaining how he had previously suffered weakness in his thumb/wrist and needed surgery. He went on to say how getting back to full health was “one of the hardest things [he] ever had to do both physically and mentally.”
ZooMaa began his competitive career in 2013 during the Call of Duty: Ghosts season. He has had an extremely successful career so far, winning five events. ZooMaa has been on multiple big-name rosters, including FaZe Clan, Denial, Envy and the New York Subliners.
As an aggressive, but smart SMG player, ZooMaa is known for his flanking routes and getting behind the enemies. Many flank routes have been named the “ZooMaa flank” over the years due to his prowess. Last year, ZooMaa was one of the main players for the Subliners, putting up excellent stats alongside his long-lasting duo, Attach.
While ZooMaa isn't retiring, he won't be competing for the foreseeable future. Whether that means we won't see him at all for the rest of the season, who knows. But we all wish ZooMaa a quick recovery and hope to see him competing again soon.
