GamesMaster to be rebooted by Channel 4

'GamesMaster' is being given a reboot by Channel 4.

The iconic computer and video games show - which originally ran between 1992 and 1998 - is set to be resurrected by the UK broadcaster.

It's been announced that the revamped programme will feature across a number of Channel 4's platforms, including the E4 channel, YouTube and social media, with five celebrities competing across three episodes.

A pitchers to advertisers reads: "They’ll undergo challenges, races and fights in virtual battle across all genres of gaming under the watchful eye of the all-knowing 'GamesMaster'.

"Each week at least one celeb will be eliminated … Over the three episodes, five will become one and the winner will be crowned.

"They’ll play each other at everything from iconic classics to brand new releases. We’ll also be serving tonnes of extra gaming-themed content to our audiences to keep them coming back for more."

The original 'GamesMaster' series was the first ever UK TV programme dedicated to computer and video games.

The popular show was hosted by Dominik Diamond, while the legendary Sir Patrick Moore appeared in pre-recorded inserts as the 'Games Master'.
