Overwatch League has announced some new 2021 season info and the events that will take place in their Shock vs. The World competition, which takes place during BlizzConline.
For those looking for more OWL competition, there will be plenty at this year's BlizzConline. The all-digital community celebration of all things Blizzard takes place on February 19-20 and will be free for fans to watch. The event, Shock vs. The World, will pit the back-to-back OWL champion San Francisco Shock against all-star OWL players, casters, and even the man himself, Game Director Jeff Kaplan.
Shock Vs. The World OWL event takes place on February 20
The five events will include two teams. The Shock will play five games against The World, which will include the now-famous Craig "LúcioDad" Krum, who recently went viral for a clip that showed his hyperactive approach to the game. The event schedule and match lineup currently stands as follows:

The winner is the first team to win three of these five events. However, even if one team sweeps the first three games, OWL plans to play all five of the events to ensure some action. After the Shock Vs. The World event, OWL says that there will be more information released on the 2021 Overwatch League season. There has been some info released already about the new structure, team divisions, and schedule, but fans are really looking for a definitive start date. On February 20, fans will likely be given the entire OWL season schedule and format. There is no mention of information about viewership rewards, but fans are hoping that this will also be clarified during BlizzConline.
