CoD: CDL Atlanta (Stage 1; Week 1) - Day 3 Recap

The third day of CDL action provided the same excellent action as ever, here’s what went down.

The third day of the 2021 Call of Duty League season gave us three matches instead of the two from the days before. The games were closer than ever, so here’s everything that happened on Day 3.

Los Angeles Guerrillas 3-2 Paris Legion

Map 1 looked to be in the hands of Paris Legion until Apathy had his say. H ewent on a 10 spree to dominate Paris and turn the tides of map one, resulting in a 250-199 victory for the Guerrillas. Vivid stepped up in the Search and Destroy with 10 big kills to secure the map 6-2. His SnD prowess allowed LAG to play mid round situations perfectly, and take a 2-0 lead in the series.

Control saw Paris Legion bounce back. More importantly, Skrapz stepped up going 32-18 as he pulled his Paris team back into the series. With Garrison Hardpoint next up, this was an essential map win for Paris. Paris took this momentum into the second Hardpoint where they all stepped up once again. They outslayed the Guerrillas and played spawns perfectly, allowing them to force the first Game 5 of the season.

The Los Angeles Guerrillas showed their experience in Map 5 clutching up to take the win. A 6-4 victory on Raid saw the Guerrillas win the series, and take their first victory of the Season. This puts them 1-1, and Paris 0-2.

Toronto Ultra 3-0 Florida Mutineers

Toronto Ultra continued their Hardpoint dominance from the Kickoff Classic, winning map 1 250-164. CleanX was the star factor here going 36-21 with a 1.71 K/D and absolutely dominating Florida, taking a 1-0 lead in the series. Owakening performed exceptionally well in Map 2, going 13-5. However, this performance could save the Mutineers as they lost 6-4, going 2-0 down in the series.

The Mutineers kept their head above water in Map 3 taking a 3-2 control win. The Garrison Control was unorthodox, with 4 out of the five rounds being offensive wins before Florida took the last Defensive round. Slacked and Owakening topped the charts of K/D, but Neptune was the star factor, making some exceptional plays to win Florida round five.

Toronto continued their flawless Hardpoint run with yet another win to take the series 3-1. Neptune went 37-28, trying to carry Florida to a win, however the Toronto Ultra squad held strong with a fundamentally sound match to win the series.
