Dota 2: Patch 7.28c Is Here, Brings Changes To Morphling And Earthshaker

Even though were are just a few days away from the end of Season One of the new DPC, Valve decided to drop a new patch.

Valve is one of the companies that like to release regular game updates. That’s why we weren’t surprised that Dota 2’s latest patch arrived just a few days before the end of Season One.

It’s always good whenever there is something new, but an update such as this might have a drastic impact on the teams that are trying to go to the Major or the Upper Division. Luckily, the patch is not as big as the previous one. In fact, there were a few nerfs (14 in total), only some of which are pretty significant.

)

Morphling

The first big nerf will affect some of the best players right now, such as Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov. His favorite hero (Morhpling) received three nerfs that will definitely impact the hero’s presence in the game.

All changes affect the hero’s Morph ability, which shouldn't come as a surprise because it makes him really deadly. Previously, the hero could have around 15 seconds cooldown with the special talent and this gave the hero a lot more freedom. However, the only way to achieve this result now is to purchase an Aghanim’s Scepter. Needless to say, this probably won’t be the go-to option for most carry Morhpling players

The second thing that should be noted is that the spell has 300 less range, meaning it should have an even bigger impact on the overall performance of the hero.

Earthshaker

The second hero that we want to include on this list is Earthshaker. This is one of the supports/offlaners that has been really popular in the last couple of years. The previous patch allowed the hero to be a lot stronger due to Aghanim’s Shard. Thanks to it, the hero could do tons of damage with his Echo Slam, even if he wasn’t close to the targets.

However, Valve decided that he is too strong, which is why the Fissure shard aftershock replication now stuns for half of the duration. This should have a positive impact on Blink Dagger and Aghanim’s Scepter because the two items became less and less popular for ES players.
