The reigning NFL MVP is about to add another achievement to his legacy.
Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be one of the guests hosts of Jeopardy!, starting a two-week stint behind the podium on April 5. This amounts to 10 episodes in which Rodgers will be at the helm. All episodes were filmed over the course of two days back in January. Rodgers will be joining a slate of distinguished guest hosts to fill the hole left by the passing of Alex Trebek. Among the other celebrities who have and will assume this mantle are Jeopardy! legend Ken Jennings, Katie Couric, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Anderson Cooper, Savannah Guthrie and Mayim Bialik.
Rodgers has referred to Trebek in the past as “one of my idols growing up.” Trebek passed away on November 8, 2020, at the age of 80, following a battle with pancreatic cancer. Trebek had been the host of Jeopardy! for 36 years, transforming the show into a national icon that is viewed daily across the country. Rodgers first appeared on Jeopardy! in 2015, in a special edition of Celebrity Jeopardy!. Rodgers faced off against Kevin O’Leary of Shark Tank and astronaut Mark Kelly, winning the competition and raising $50,000 for Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer. Now he will assume a different role, reading the questions and leading competitors along in the famous fast paced game of knowledge.
