Stassi Schroeder says pregnancy saved her from alcohol and drugs

Stassi Schroeder thinks her pregnancy saved her from turning to alcohol and drugs after her firing from 'Vanderpump Rules'.

The 32-year-old TV star was axed from the show amid accusations of racism and Stassi admits her pregnancy news came at the perfect time for her.

In a clip from 'The Good, The Bad, The Baby' podcast, she explained: "I think [it] made me so much better to be pregnant while I was going through a hard time.

"If I wasn’t pregnant, I probably would have just like … gone to alcoholism, Xanax. I would have lashed out, dark passenger-ed. And I think our baby 100 percent saved me."

Stassi and her husband Beau Clark welcomed their daughter Hartford into the world on January 7.

And Hartford's arrival has helped to lift the spirits of the TV star, who was previously accused of falsely reporting Faith Stowers to the police for crimes she didn't commit.

She said: "When I look back on this past year, to me it’s filled with so much more happiness and thankfulness and gratitude than sadness. Because when I have the f****** greatest gift I’ve ever been given, it puts things into perspective."

Stassi previously addressed the controversy in a statement, insisting she'd "grown significantly" in recent years.

She explained: "Racially insensitive comments from my past have resurfaced. It is important that I continue to take accountability for what I have said and done, while pushing myself to do better. I have grown significantly from the person I was then, and I am still filled with remorse and regret for the hurt I caused.

"I am grateful for the people in my life that continue to check me and push me to evolve into a more educated person."

The controversy led to Stassi losing her podcast - 'Straight Up With Stassi' - and numerous endorsement deals, while she was also dropped by a PR company.
