Hall of Famer and New York Giants legend Michael Strahan has revealed that the latest video he posted about closing his teeth gap was a prank, in honor of April Fool’s Day.

On Tuesday, Strahan posted a video to his social media accounts of him getting an operation to close his iconic tooth gap. In the video, Strahan was talking about how many people would discourage him from getting the operation if he asked them. At the end of the video, he said, “I got to do what I want to do for myself.”

At the end of the video, he showed off his fresh new smile, gap free.

It seemed very real, but the former Giants defensive end revealed that it was an April Fool’s prank.

On Thursday, the Giants legend posted another video on Twitter talking about the operation and gap. “I appreciate all the comments,” Strahan said. “I was surprised, to be honest with you, at how many people were like,’ No, don’t get rid of the gap! It’s your signature.'” The Giants legend continued, “I appreciate all the love for the gap, and I’ve had it for almost 50 years now. And I know it was a shocker to see it gone!”

Nearing the end of the video, Strahan pulls down his mask and shows that the gap is still there. “April Fools, come on, man! The gap is here to stay for a little while,” Strahan said. “My momma likes it so…for you, mama.”

Strahan certainly fooled us here at usports, where we reported the story that he got dental work done to fix the gap between his two front teeth. Well done, Strahan.
