VCT Stage 2 Challengers 2

Eight teams fought the past few days and only four came out as winners. The fierce competition began on April 22 with Cloud9 Blue taking down T1 2-0. In fact, Cloud9 found a winning streak and beat three teams in a row before making the grand finals. Sentinels, the winner of NA’s VCT Masters 1, lost to Andbox at first but won through the loser’s bracket to make it to the grand finals.

In the VCT Stage 2 Challengers 2 grand finals for NA, defending champion Sentinels faced Cloud9 on a winning streak. Fans expected a close match between the esports giants but unfortunately, it was a flop. Sentinels decimated C9 with little resistance. Ascent on the third map of the series finally saw Cloud9 Blue pick themselves up, but it wasn’t enough. Sentinels won the map 14-12, coming in first place and taking home $20 thousand. Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, now a permanent player for Sentinels, especially showed off and got crucial picks for the team.

After it all, T1, Built By Gamers, Immortals, and TSM placed in the bottom four, losing their shot at attending VCT Masters 2.
