Calum Best ready to find love

Calum Best needs to “pay some attention” to his love life.

The 40-year-old star has been single “by choice” for around three years while he focused on getting his life back on track following years of wild partying and being declared bankrupt in 2013, but he’s now keen to settle down and start a family.

He said: “I wanted to focus on getting my finances and health back on track. But I have always wanted to be a dad and now I’m 40 I need to pay that side of my life some attention. I keep saying I’ll meet someone in the gym or Whole Foods, but it hasn’t happened yet.”

A few years ago, the model vowed to become a dad with the help of one of his female friends if he hadn’t settled down by the time he was 40, but he’s insisted that won’t happen now.

He said: “I thought about it, but I want to do it in a loving relationship – I just hope I meet them soon.”

Among Calum’s famous former partners is Sarah Harding, and the Girls Aloud singer recently revealed in her autobiography, ‘Hear Me Out’, that she was introduced to cocaine during their two-year relationship.

But the former ‘Celebrity Love Island’ star insisted he tried to shield Sarah from the drug.

He told the Telegraph magazine: “At the time we dated it [cocaine] was pretty much everywhere. I tried to not get her involved.”

The pair – who are still friends - got together shortly after Calum’s father, football legend George Best, passed away and he was thankful for her support, even if he struggled to speak about his loss.

He said: “She was somebody I could lean on – I just didn’t know how to openly express my feelings.”
