EA Play Live handed July 22 date

EA Play Live is set to take place on July 22.

The gaming news event has been handed an official date, with the confirmation coming via a tweet from the official Electronic Arts Twitter account.

The tweet reads: "EA Play Live is coming back July 22nd. Save the date!"

The tweet also features a 3D cube, sphere, and pyramid in the teaser video, which harks back to the company's original logo.

The EA Play Live event is set to reveal lots of exciting news about new EA products, with speculation suggesting that the company could share updates about the next 'Battlefield' title.

Last month, EA revealed that DICE, Criterion, DICE Los Angeles and Electronic Arts Gothenburg have been working on the new 'Battlefield' game.

The company described the collaboration as the "biggest team ever" for the latest instalment of the franchise, while Industrial Toys is also making a totally separate 'Battlefield' mobile game, which is set to drop in 2022.

In a blog post, DICE boss Oskar Gabrielson said: "2021 is an exciting time for us here at DICE. Working with more world-class development studios within Electronic Arts, we have our biggest team ever on a 'Battlefield' game for console and PC.

"Our friends at Criterion and DICE LA are working with us on our shared vision for the game, while the team in Gothenburg is taking technology in the game to the next level.

"Together, we are creating a jaw-dropping experience for you to enjoy later in 2021."
