MSI Rumble Day 3 Results : 10-0 and 0-10 Dream No More

Day 3 of the MSI Rumble stage showed results we definitely didn’t expect. PSG Talon showed us that even the undefeated has to fall eventually. Meanwhile, Cloud9 showed us they were different from TSM by killing the 0-10 dream.

10-0 dream no more

Heading into day 3, many people thought RNG would just continue to dominate the rumble stage. A 4-0 start, and going up against PSG Talon who was 2-2. It looked like it would just be another stomp for the LPL representatives.

The game wasn’t even close from the start, but it wasn’t RNG who was looking over their opponents. Instead, PSG Talon seemed like they had finally come to play. The team showed glimpses of what we expected at the start: dominance with remnants of the Flash Wolves dynasty.

All members of the PCS champion roster did something nobody did since Day 1 of MSI as a whole. They put a loss on RNG’s scorecard, effectively killing the perfect run for the LPL champions. With this win, the rest of the MSI teams have good reason to fear PSG Talon.

However, we know what happens when gods bleed, and it’s likely we’ll see the same with RNG. The team will definitely learn from this loss and make sure no more losses come their way.

We definitely saw that in their game against Pentanet.GG. (Spoiler: I decided not to make food to standby for press interview after seeing the gold lead at 15 minutes)

)## 0-10 dream also dies

Don’t let the Cloud9 win against Pentanet.GG fool you. They might not go 0-10, but the 1-9 dream for the LCS champions is more than alive.

Jokes aside, this win was a must for the NA representatives, even if it was against a wildcard region. It’s important to remember that it was Cloud9 that put the 1 in Damwon’s 5-1 score in groups. They have shown that they are more than capable of going toe-to-toe with their opponents.

That being said, the PSG win over Damwon makes Cloud9’s chances of advancing slimmer, more so with Cloud9 dropping another game. But today’s results show that the rumble stage of MSI is getting even more interesting. If Cloud9 can bring back the dominant performances they’re capable of, the LCS champions might make it out.
