CoD: Atlanta FaZe Win CDL Stage 3 Major

FaZe take home Major 3, being the first team to win two this year.

Stage 3 of the Call of Duty League has possibly been the best yet. With new teams coming for the crown, OpTic looking back to their best and FaZe back in form, we’ve seen some of the best COD this year. However, it was Atlanta FaZe who took the $200K, and the Major 3 win. Here’s how they got it done.

Atlanta FaZe’s Road to Victory

Atlanta FaZe took one defeat in Stage 3 group play to the New York Subliners, seeing them start the Major in Winners Round one. However, this match against Dallas Empire was hardly a contest. FaZe quickly took a 3-0 win, and moved on to their next opponents.

Toronto Ultra were their Winners Round two opponents, and in one of the best series we’ve seen all year, Atlanta FaZe denied a reverse sweep from Toronto Ultra, clutching up and taking the series in game five. This game five was followed by another, however FaZe were instead on the receiving end this time. New York booked their spot in the Grand Finals following a 3-2 win over FaZe, and their Hardpoint dominance looked dangerous.

This didn’t discourage FaZe; and while they had to take on Toronto Ultra yet again, they secured a 3-2 win taking them into the Grand Finals. The Final was a breeze for FaZe. As they bounced back after a map one loss to take the following three. While New York secured the Miami SnD, it wasn’t enough, and FaZe got back to scheduled programming with back-to-back map wins to take the Major.

The Call of Duty League would usually now see a week off, before the start of Stage 4. However, next week we see the All Star Weekend; where two players from each team will compete in a Gunfight tournament, and 4v4 showcase matches.
