A look at the final week of games in the SEA DPC
The conclusion of DPC has painted a clear picture of teams and their performances throughout the second season. The standings table before the tiebreakers show T1 and TNC Predator draw for the top spot, loser to take the second. Execration and Fnatic shared the third position with the loser to occupy the fourth spot. Here are the Week 6 highlights:
Lower Division
Cignal Ultra lined up against South Built Esports in a 2-1 defeat. The first match was a 33-minute long battle with a score of 28-34 in favor of SBE. Cignal came back strongly in the second match to beat SBE 41-12, proving that their team is well capable yet inconsistent in putting up such performances. SBE won 37-44 in the last match, but faced a strong challenge from Cignal in doing so.
Galaxy Racer won the second set of games 2-1 against 496 Gaming. The first match went on for 45-minutes with a scoreline of 39-30. 496 could not do much against a farmed Medusa and lost. Set’s second match was just over 26 minutes long with 496 Gaming winning it by 38-21. 496’s Templar Assassin and Lifestealer were terrific picks and Galaxy had a tough time stopping them. The last match saw Galaxy going with Slark against 496’s Anti Mage. Slark snowballed hard in the game, giving 496 little to no opportunity to turn the game. Galaxy won 18-45 in the last game.
The last set of games between Galaxy Racer and Motivate.Trust Gaming was interesting to watch. MG.Trust won the first match with a score of 43-28 in 51-minutes as Galaxy struggled to carry the game with their Juggernaut. Game two was more evenly matched with a score of 33-30, it was Galaxy who came back to win and stay in the competition. The last match was almost an hour long but the score of 33-60 heavily favoured MG.Trust who won it and secured the series.

Upper Division
The first set of matches between Lilgun and Execration went in the latter’s way. Game one had Lilgun doing well on Bristleback and Ember Spirit, but Execration had picked good counter heroes to control the game. Both Lifestealer and Legion Commander were extremely aggressive to influence the game and win 25-38 in just under 41-minutes. Lilgun prepared some good early game drafts in the second match. However, even after trying, they failed to stop Medusa and Tiny from farming. Their team fights to force objectives were also not effective enough and Execration always had the gold advantage with them. The second match ended 42-25 in Execration’s favor.
A dip in form of Neon Esports gave T1 an edge over their opponents. The first game went in Neon’s favor as they dominated with Phantom Assassin after securing the Aegis twice at the 26 and 37-minute mark. T1 fought back in the second game with a great draft including Lina and Faceless Void. The game showcased how powerful Lina has become in the meta, as she continued to stomp most fights in the match. T1 won 28-34 in a 51-minute long game. The last match saw Neon take an early game advantage with Gyrocopter and Io. However, after taking a few terrible team fights, Neon lost their lead and T1 started controlling the game. T1 won 27-31, taking the series.
Highlight Series: Fnatic Vs TNC Predator
Two powerful teams in the Upper Division battled each other in the second set of games. TNC had an early game lead in the first with a 4k gold advantage around the 15-minute mark. Their team kept increasing the lead with picks like Shadow Fiend and Dragon Knight. However, a few mistakes and awful fights around 30-minutes cost TNC the game. They lost their lead and Fnatic comeback into the game with their heroes Doom and Juggernaut.
The second game saw TNC pick heroes like Puck, Beastmaster and Dragon Knight. Whereas, Fnatic picked Storm Spirit, Centaur Warrunner and Terrorblade. TNC were ahead with Puck from early to mid-game and kept pressuring TNC with their DK and Beastmaster picks. The game ended in TNC’s win with a score of 20-29.
The last game was neck to neck in the early game. However, a fight before the 20-minute mark pushed the gold lead in the hands of Fnatic. It was not long before Fnatic gave away the lead because of a few unfavorable fights. TNC grabbed this opportunity and bagged the game, winning the series 2-1.
