EA's CEO praises 'fire' gaming industry

EA's CEO thinks the gaming industry is on "fire".

Andrew Wilson - Chief Executive Officer at Electronic Arts, which is behind some of the biggest games including 'FIFA', 'Battlefield' and 'The Sims' - is convinced growth is only going to continue for the company and its rivals.

He said: "The industry's on fire. More people have recognised the value of games. Our network of players is growing. We have great content. You mentioned 'Battlefield' coming this year in addition to 'FIFA' and some other great things."

And Wilson says their company is projecting even more growth for this year after a bumper 2020.

Speaking to Bloomberg Technology, he added: "We're coming off an extraordinary year last year as an industry and continue to be grateful for everything that we do for our players and for our players who spend so much time with us. And even with such a strong year the last year, we've got an even bigger year this year. We're projecting that continued growth. And that's not unnatural because people have discovered how awesome games are and that's a connection they've made, both with the content itself and the friends they've made. Our expectation is that will continue to grow with time."
