Austrian startup Fauna's audio glasses are now available in several countries worldwide, including the US, offering a product similar to Bose's Frames. Indeed, these glasses are more focused on sound than on sight, with a miniature audio system installed on the arms of the glasses, transmitting sound via small integrated speakers.
Thanks to Bluetooth, these audio glasses easily connect to a smartphone, allowing the wearer to listen to music or take phone calls. And whether for adjusting the sound, changing tracks or answering calls, all the controls are touch-sensitive. Each pair of glasses has its own speakers, as well as microphones for answering the phone. Note that the sound is audible only to the person wearing the glasses, and that the wearer will continue to hear everything else that happens around them.
Audio may be the main attraction, but these glasses also protect the eyes with either blue-light filtering or sunglasses options, available in men's and women's styles. Fauna's audio glasses are priced €249, or approx. $300.
Note that Bose is the forerunner in this field with its Frames audio sunglasses, equipped with a miniature audio system, released in 2019.
