Microsoft Edge getting CET update

Microsoft is introducing Intel's Control-Flow Enforcement Technology (CET) to the Edge browser.

The tech giant is giving private browsing a security boost with the new feature, which is already enabled in Windows 10.

In its roadmap, the company said: "Microsoft Edge will begin supporting an even safer browsing mode that uses hardware-dependent control flow for browser processes on supported hardware (Intel 11th Gen. or AMD Zen 3).

"You can disable CET by manipulating Image File Execution Options (IFEO) using group policy."

The feature is listed as "in development".
