Deviation Games tease 'big' scope for PlayStation exclusive

Deviation Games has revealed its upcoming PlayStation exclusive will be "big in scope".

The studio - which was recently set up by former Treyarch developers Dave Anthony and Jason Blundell - revealed work on a "groundbreaking" new IP for Sony's console during last week's Summer Game Fest kickoff.

Speaking to Eurogamer this week, Anthony teased: "Make no mistake: This game is gonna be big in scope. There's no question about it."

The CEO explained that the company has "well over 100 people" involved, but they "need a lot more" to make the game a reality.

He added: "So alongside what we're doing right now that's anything to do with the game, we're actually building a studio. And that requires a lot of focus and effort.

"If you want to make the foundations strong, then that's where a lot of our effort has been over the time so far."

Meanwhile, Hermen Hulst - head of PlayStation Studios - noted that the team have been working on the title for over a year.

However, he refused to be drawn on any details, instead teasing the "bold" new IP.

He said: "Together we're bringing a new IP that's bold, that stands on the shoulders of what these guys have learned over their careers that speak for themselves.

"And that is inevitably going to lead to a new addition in the PlayStation portfolio that I'm really looking forward to sharing with you in more detail."
