CDL 2021 Power Rankings after Stage 4 Major

Here’s our updated CDL Power Rankings following the Major.

This week we saw Atlanta FaZe take home their third Major of the year. As the COD League returned to LAN for Stage 4’s Major, our Power Rankings need a reshuffle. Here’s our updated list following the Stage 4 Major.

12. Los Angeles Guerrillas (-)

While they defeated their rivals, LA Thieves, in the first match of the Major, they suffered a 3-0 defeat to the Mutineers in their next match. The LA Guerrillas struggled to get anything going in the Major, and with just one win in their last eight matches, they find themselves bottom of our Power Rankings.

11. London Royal Ravens (-1)

The London Royal Ravens were sent home from the Major following a 3-1 defeat to Seattle Surge. London struggled in this matchup, and while they’ve had the ability to compete with the best at times, Alexx’s inconsistency has cost them recently. With Seattle improving on LAN, the Ravens drop to 11th.

10. Paris Legion (-2)

Paris Legion were also sent home after just one match at the Major, this time suffering a 3-0 defeat to Seattle Surge. Paris looked uncompetitive in this matchup, and by the time we return to LAN for the Stage 5 Major, they’ll need to be improved.

9. LA Thieves (-)

The LA Thieves were unfortunate at the Stage 4 Major, having to sub in Drazah just minutes before the start of their match. This resulted in a 3-2 defeat, and the Thieves continue to struggle in 2021.

8. Seattle Surge (+3)

Seattle Surge won back-to-back series at the Major before suffering a 3-2 loss to OpTic Chicago. Seattle looked great on LAN, and Octane completely dominated. The issue here is that the Majors are the only events on LAN, so if Seattle continues to perform poorly Online, they’ll constantly be going into the Major at a disadvantage.

7. Florida Mutineers (-1)

The Florida Mutineers looked instantly dominant as they 3-0 swept LA Guerrillas in their first LAN match. Owakening proved that he can do it on LAN, while Neptune looked better than ever and carried his form across to their match against the Subliners. While they fell 3-2, Florida looked good, and can take confidence from this Major.

6. Minnesota ROKKR (+1)

Minnesota ROKKR continues to improve with MajorManiak on the roster as they 3-0’d New York to kick off their Major. While they then suffered back-to-back defeats to Atlanta FaZe and OpTic Chicago, ROKKR were competitive and could’ve gone further in this Major.

5. OpTic Chicago (-1)

OpTic Chicago placed 4th at the Major, and their performances were underwhelming. While they promised the fans a great rise in their gameplay on LAN, they didn't deliver, and instead looked on par with their Online performances, or sometimes worse. However, they finished in 4th place, and Scump dominated, giving them some great points to build on.

4. New York Subliners (-1)

The New York Subliners, unfortunately, had to play this Major without their star SMG player, Asim. However, they performed great and Decemate did an excellent job as he filled in. Asim will rejoin the squad for Stage 5 as NYSL look to win their first Major at the last available opportunity.

3. Dallas Empire (+2)

Dallas Empire move up to third place in our Power Rankings as they place second at the Major. Empire completely flipped a switch as they returned to LAN, as all players were dominating and performing at their very best. Heading into Stage 5, they’ll need to keep up this level.

2. Toronto Ultra (-)

Toronto Ultra remain second in our Power Rankings after a third place finish at the Stage 4 Major. Toronto made some small mistakes in their match against Empire, and should’ve 3-0 swept. Instead, they were reverse swept, and will be looking to improve heading into Stage 5.

1. Atlanta FaZe (-)

Following their Stage 4 Major win, Atlanta FaZe remain at the top of our Power Rankings. Cellium was awarded Player of the Stage as he dominated on LAN, while the whole FaZe squad looked better than ever as they won their third Major of the year. FaZe have already confirmed #1 seed for Champs, and will likely spend Stage 5 broadening their map pool ahead of Champs.
