LoL: Cloud9 Returns Zven To LCS Starting Position

One of C9’s best players was sent down to the Academy team at the beginning of summer, but now he’s back.

After going 4-5 in the first three weeks and falling to third place in the LCS, Cloud9 decided it was time for Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen to return. The star ADC player was benched after C9 came back from this year’s Mid-Season Invitational.

Zven has been playing in Cloud9’s Academy team in North America’s Academy League, where he has destroyed the competition. While C9 Academy only won three series out of six played (they tied three series), Zven had outstanding performances. He had the best KDA with 64/13/72, was the top farmer with 9.5 CSM and the best farm in a match with 298 CS in 26 minutes against CLG Academy. Zven did all of this after only twelve matches, according to stats site Games of Legends.

Meanwhile, Cloud9 played with Calvin “k1ng” Truong, their usual Academy ADC. While k1ng had good performances and the seventh-highest KDA among all LCS players, the team decided that it’s time for the true king to take his throne back. But k1ng has certainly proved himself to be an LCS-level player, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him again in the LCS in the near future.

Zven’s benching started a wave among LCS organizations. After Cloud9 benched the Danish star, Dignitas sent Max “Soligo” Soong and Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett to their Academy team, while Barney “Alphari” Morris simply got benched.

Zven will return for the match against Golden Guardians held on Friday, June 25. He has not played with Luka “Perkz” Perkovic and the rest of his team since MSI, but he certainly didn’t get rusty.
