Diplo is being sued by his former fling – one month after he brought a lawsuit against her.
The 42-year-old DJ filed a lawsuit against Marchel Gabrielle Auguste – whom he had a brief consensual relationship with in 2019 – in early May for allegedly harassing him and his family, including sending unsolicited explicit messages.
And on Friday (25.06.21), TMZ reported Marchel has now taken her own case to court against Diplo, as she alleges he pursued her when she was underage, had sex with her when she was an adult and never disclosed he had an STI.
In new legal documents obtained by the publication, the woman claims Diplo first contacted her on Twitter when she was 17 and solicited nude photos from her, while also sending her sexually explicit comments.
Marchel alleges she and Diplo exchanged explicit photos before meeting in person for the first time in 2018, when she was 21.
She then moved to Los Angeles, where she claims Diplo began pressuring her for sex by sending unsolicited graphic photos of himself in sexual situations.
According to the documents, Marchel says she heard a rumour Diplo had herpes and questioned him about it in late 2018, and he got angry and cut off all communication, before they later made up in 2019 when she then lost her virginity to the music star.
Marchel also alleges Diplo recorded video of their sexual encounter despite her telling him she didn’t consent to being filmed.
Shortly afterward, the woman claims she was diagnosed with chlamydia, and believes she got it from Diplo because she says he was her only sexual partner at the time.
Following the filing of Marchel’s lawsuit, Diplo’s attorney Bryan Freedman slammed her claims as part of an “ongoing campaign of harassment”.
He told TMZ: "As has already been made clear in the restraining order we obtained against this individual, she has repeatedly stalked, defamed, threatened and attempted to shake down [Diplo] and his family.
"These latest false claims are just part of that ongoing campaign of harassment, and we will not allow them to deter us from pursuing justice against her to the fullest extent possible under the law.”
In his own lawsuit, Diplo claimed Marchel is a "relentless and unstable fan who manipulated herself into" his life years ago, and said she now won’t take no for an answer after he rejected her advances.
The producer alleged Auguste has gone to extreme lengths to get in touch with him, including creating fake social media accounts and flooding him and his family with sexually suggestive messages.
What’s more, Diplo claimed the woman also sent Kathryn Lockhart – the mother of his sons, 11-year-old Lockett and seven-year-old Lazer – racist and disturbing messages in which she criticised the colour of Kathryn’s skin and told her to take her own life.
The ‘Looking For Me’ hitmaker was awarded a restraining order against Marchel in December last year.
