Cyberpunk 2077 will continue to receive patch updates and fixes

CD Projekt CEO Adam Kicinski says 'Cyberpunk 2077' will continue to receive updates and fixes.

Following a divisive launch in December, the video game's developers have reassured gamers that they are constantly working on improving performance issues and removing "bugs and glitches" despite reaching a "satisfactory level" of improvement overall.

Speaking to Polish site TVN24, Kicinski is translated as saying: "We have already achieved a satisfactory level in this regard. We have also been working on the overall efficiency, which we are also quite happy about. Of course, we also removed bugs and glitches. And we will continue to do that.

"Over time, we will be introducing improvements to the general systems that players are paying attention to."

CD Projekt has also vowed to release versions of the title specifically for the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 by the end of the year, as well as a free DLC.

In December 2020, Sony took action after the mixed reaction to the title's console launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and customers were able to claim a refund on the product.

In a statement, the gaming giant said at the time: "SIE strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, therefore we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store.

"SIE will also be removing Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice.

"Once we have confirmed that you purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store, we will begin processing your refund.

"Please note that completion of the refund may vary based on your payment method and financial institution."

However, even though it's since returned to the PlayStation Store, they warned that there are still some performance issues on the PlayStation 4.

Microsoft also offered refunds but they will end next month.
