Honda unveils first electric SUV called Prologue

Honda has confirmed it's first of two electric SUVs is called Prologue.

Word was already out that the Japanese automaker's first electric SUV would be called just that after a recent trademark filing.

The vehicle won't go on sale to consumers in North America until 2024.

Honda has previously vowed to be completely electric by the year 2040.

Honda of America sales chief Dave Gardner said: “With the Prologue, our goal is to provide a highly competitive product with the functionality to meet the diverse needs of our customers."

The firm has teamed up with General Motors on the two SUVs, with Honda using their Ultium battery packs. The other motor will use the Acura branding.

In 2020, the Honda e was launched as their first all-electric motor.
