Fortnite Legend “Funk” Announces Departure From FaZe Clan

Veteran Fortnite Battle Royale player Trevor “Funk” Siegler is no longer a member of FaZe Clan.

The player confirmed today that his contract with the organization has expired. He initially signed in December of 2018 when Fortnite was the hottest game on the scene. Funk spent three years with FaZe alongside long-time duo partner Nate Hill, but that chapter has now come to an end.

Funk Announces End of FaZe Contract

The two-time Fortnite World Cup Finalist took to Twitter with the sad news. However, he reaffirmed his intentions to stream.

“With the month coming to an end, my contract with FaZe is over. Nothing but love for them and what they’ve done for me. I appreciate the love and support over the years, you all are amazing. As for my future, I’ll still be streaming every day!”

Funk’s departure marks the end of an era for those who stuck with Fortnite from the beginning. The now 25-year-old dominated the early tournaments, including Friday Fortnite kill races and the various seasonal Skirmish competitions alongside Nate Hill. Unfortunately, Funk struggled to maintain a high level of play after finishing eighth in FNCS Chapter 2 - Season 1 Finals. Regardless of his recent history, there’s no denying Funk’s impact on the game and legendary career.

Recent FaZe Roster Changes

)

FaZe Clan began clearing its Fortnite roster in October of last year with Diggy, Bini and Tilt. That trend continued yesterday when FaZe cut ties with Jason “Tennp0” Wang, another Fortnite “OG” who joined in the early days of the competitive scene. The parting of ways with Funk shows that the organization is adjusting to the times. FaZe has shown no signs of leaving the Fortnite space anytime soon. They recently signed top NA East competitors Evan “Cented” Barron and Timothy “Bizzle” Miller.

We’ll have to see what comes of FaZe Clan’s Fortnite roster over the next few months.
