PORTLAND, OREGON - MARCH 16: Damian Lillard #0 of the Portland Trail Blazers drives to the basket on Steven Adams #12 of the New Orleans Pelicans as Zion Williamson #1 looks on during the second half at Moda Center on March 16, 2021 in...

Damian Lillard has had his name constantly thrown around in the media about being shipped off to play for a team not named the Trail Blazers.

However, Lillard has sounded off on the rumors, specifically saying that he is willing to give the new head coach for the organization, Chauncy Billups, a chance before forcing a trade.

“Hopefully we make strides in a positive direction, and we can become a better team with a new coach. That’s where I am with it,” Lillard said.

Lillard also discussed the frenzy around him, and how many times those in the media have tried to speak for him.

“All of the people who have covered me since I’ve been in the NBA, they know that if I think something or have something to say, I’ll say it and I’m going to stand on it. It’s been a lot of talk. Nobody has heard what I’ve said or nobody has heard me say any of these things.”

Lillard continued by highlighting his current displeasure with the media.

“Anything that I have to say, I’m going to say it directly to Neil, and I’m going to address it directly with my team. I don’t really have nothing to say to you guys about it. Everything I need to say and feel has been said to Neil.”

The media will still speculate about potential Lillard trades, however, it appears that the star point guard will remain in Portland for the time being.
