While the 2021 NFL season is still months away, it is never too early to prepare for the fantasy season. Whether it’s research, mock drafts, or going with your gut, everyone has a way to prepare for their fantasy drafts. However, this isn’t another article to help you prepare for the fantasy season. Today, I am going to give three bold fantasy predictions for the New York Jets in 2021.

Michael Carter Finishes as a Top-20 Running Back
After playing in two games last season, the Jets and Le’Veon Bell went their separate ways. With Bell gone, Frank Gore led the way, averaging only 6.7 fantasy points per game. In the offseason, the Jets signed former San Francisco 49er Tevin Coleman. However, Coleman missed eight games last season and averaged a career-low 1.9 yards per attempt. The other running backs on the roster include 2020 fourth-round pick La’Mical Perine and castoffs Ty Johnson and Josh Adams. In his rookie season, Perine averaged only 3.6 yards per attempt. Meanwhile, Carter enters training camp as the favorite to be the starter after a dominant career at UNC. If he gets the featured role, Carter should have no trouble finishing as a top-20 running back.
Loading…##### Zach Wilson is the Highest Scoring Rookie Quarterback
Many believe Trevor Lawrence will finish the season as the highest-scoring rookie quarterback. However, Wilson has a better shot at doing it than Lawrence. The Jets play in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL, as the other three teams in the AFC East averaged 10 wins last season. Furthermore, the Jets have a terrible defense that will give up points in bunches. More times than not, when Wilson steps onto the field, he will be chasing points. With a talented wide receiver core, including Jamison Crowder, Corey Davis, Elijah Moore, and Denzel Mims, Wilson has plenty of weapons at his disposal. Furthermore, the Jets added two excellent pieces to their offensive line this offseason. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Wilson led the league in pass attempts as a rookie.
Loading…##### No Jet Tight End Finishes in the Top-40
Last year, Chris Herndon was the only Jets tight end to finish as a top-75 tight end, finishing as the TE33, averaging only 4.6 fantasy points per game. Despite the Jets lacking weapons at wide receiver and running back, Herndon averaged only 1.9 catches and 18 receiving yards per game. Despite a glaring hole at the position, the only tight end the Jets signed in the offseason was former Buffalo Bills castoff Tyler Kroft. Furthermore, the Jets didn’t draft a tight end. Instead, they signed Kenny Yeboah as an undrafted free agent. Between all the new weapons at wide receiver and the uncertain mess at the position, don’t expect to see a lot of fantasy production coming from the Jets’ tight ends this season.
