Feeling the heat? Keep cool with a smart fan

Never have there been so many connected, smart fans on the market to choose from. These devices can be easily controlled remotely, often with voice commands. Indeed, smart fans can prove particularly handy in hot weather conditions.

The main advantage of a connected fan is obviously the ability to control the device remotely from a smartphone. In other words, you don't have to keep getting up to adjust the fan and direct the airflow to where you are.

The market's most comprehensive and efficient offer currently comes from Dyson, starting with the famous Pure Cool Link, which connects to the British manufacturer's Link application. This model, which costs almost $400, also purifies the air. According to the manufacturer, it eliminates up to 99.95% of allergens and pollutants.

With its Smartmi range, Xiaomi also offers a smart fan, albeit a much more classic model, with blades and mounted on a stand. And it's much more affordable, at around $140. This smart fan lets you take control of the fan's speed and angle of oscillation (up to 120 degrees) directly via the Mi Home application, and by voice, via Alexa or Google Assistant.

Those who prefer tower fans can opt for the Tristar Princess -- a sure bet, which can also be controlled by voice. This device has three air flow modes, one of which even simulates a light outdoor breeze. This relatively discreet and quiet model costs around 100 UK pounds.

In terms of budget, there's something for everyone on the market these days, but what they all have in common is their ease and comfort of use, especially when hot weather makes any effort a trial.

Beyond fans, there are also more complex connected ventilation solutions out there, which offer full control over air circulation in the home. Here too, it's about saving energy and ensuring a healthier home interior, free from pollen or allergens. For that, count several thousands of euros.
