Ever since there has been a competitive Hearthstone scene, Dan "Frodan" Chou has, in many ways, acted as the face and voice of it.

With over-the-top ensembles, a personality as colorful, and a passion for the scene that nearly goes unmatched, some thought every time they turned on a Grandmasters match or a World Championship stream, he would be on it. For the last seven years, that was almost always the case.

However, as the cryptic saying goes: All good things must come to an end.

On Thursday afternoon, Frodan shared an announcement on his Twitter account stating that he would no longer be casting the Hearthstone Grandmasters professional circuit going forward.

"It wasn't in the works, no. The decision was made this week," Frodan told Inven Global when asked if this was a long-planned decision, but specified it's not connected to the employee walkout that happened Wednesday.

The news comes as Activision Blizzard is under investigation by the state of California for fostering a workplace environment that has rampant harassment and discrimination complaints. Frodan's Twitter account has been showing support to those in the Hearthstone and Blizzard community who have been impacted by recent events.

Originally from New Jersey, Frodan began his roots in esports back in 2010 with StarCraft before transitioning over to Hearthstone when it launched in 2014. Once in the scene, Frodan joined Tempo Storm as a manager and tournament organizer and made a name for himself on the casting desk for his colorful demeanor and appearance. Currently an employee at Twitch, Frodan dabbles in the Teamfight Tactics and Valorant scenes as well.
