Freddy Galvis Returns to Phillies

After spending his first six MLB seasons in the city of Brotherly Love, Freddy Galvis is returning. The Philadelphia Phillies are acquiring the shortstop from the Baltimore Orioles for RHP Tyler Burch.

Galvis is having a usual year for him slashing .249/.306/.414 with nine homers all while playing a solid defensive shortstop. He goes back to the team that originally signed him out of Venezuela. He gives the Phillies depth in the infield and is a good veteran presence as they make their run for the playoffs.

Burch is a right-handed pitcher who has pitched in A-ball this season at Clearwater. He shows some dominant stuff with a 31/6 K/BB rate in just 18.1 innings. The Baltimore Orioles get an upside arm who could at least help them in the bullpen soon.
