2024 CHEVROLET SILVERADO HD CAUGHT OUT IN THE OPEN

Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum. Something big this way comes. Here we have some of our first good looks of the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD pickup truck. Much like the 2024 GMC Sierra HD, GM’s big truck twins are due for a freshening up soon, right after the heavily updated 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 find their footing in the marketplace. General Motors will also be launching all-new midsize trucks by the 2024 model year, making the next 24 months or so an exciting time if you’re any sort of GM truck fan.

2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD Spy Photos

Some expectations are that the new Silverado HD will appear as a 2023 model year vehicle. However, MC&T can confirm that the truck pictured in the spy shots will actually be a 2024 model year vehicle.

Unfortunately, our spy photographer didn’t get an up close look at the interior this time around, but we have it on good word from our most trusted sources that the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD and 2024 GMC Sierra HD will each see interior updates to match their half-ton brethren. But here’s what we can see: a new grille design is teasing itself behind the camouflage mesh, while a new headlight design appears to be on its way. This is likely from polarizing responses to the current look.

Some may recall that when Chevrolet first debuted the T1 Silverado HD a few years ago, response was so charged that the brand had to show other variations of the truck before marketing folks wanted to. This new headlight design could share more similarity with the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, but it’s hard to tell at the moment.

The new Chevrolet Silverado HD in the spy photos also appears to be a gasoline-powered truck – likely utilizing the 6.6L L8T V8 under the hood paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. So, while General Motors rushes to launch multiple electric vehicles in the coming years, tradition will remain with its USDOT Class 2a and 2b trucks, where internal combustion engines, their range and their power density still make the most sense.

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD and 2024 GMC Sierra HD are expected to debut sometime next year, and will be built in Flint, Michigan.
