Clarity is emerging in the competition at running back.
Part of Wednesday’s practice was open to the media, and one observation of note was the absence of tight ends Travis Vokolek and Austin Allen.
Afterward, much of the talk revolved around the running backs as coaches and players from the offense fielded reporters' questions. Running backs coach Ryan Held said a depth chart was "starting to work itself through."
Alluding to the "unproven" label that's been attached to his group, Held said: "Our guys want to go out there and prove that we have talent in the room and be able to be a position that helps our football team. We need to be."
Running backs Gabe Ervin, Markese Stepp and Sevion Morrison also spoke about the competition for the top spot.
