Call of Duty League Championship Weekend Goes Ahead With New COVID Restrictions

Champs continues, but further COVID restrictions will be in place.

The Call of Duty League saw the return of fans in last week's Major 5 event. With an estimated 1,500 fans at the event, the atmosphere was electric and provided some of the best Call of Duty we have seen all year.

However, with minimal COVID restrictions, multiple CDL professionals tested positive for COVID-19 following the event. While not all have been confirmed, it is rumored that 5-10 pro’s contracted the virus, with Seth “Scump” Abner being one of the first to announce.

In the announcement, the CDL states that Champs will take place as planned, but further COVID restrictions will be in place. This includes fans requiring a negative COVID test, or full vaccinations to attend. Masks will also need to be worn while inside the venue, as the CDL attempt to reduce the spread of COVID within the League.

The 2021 Call of Duty League Championship Weekend begins on August 19, with the Champions being crowned on the 22nd.
