Version1 Launches Scholarship And Mentorship Program For Students

Version1 partners with Cxmmunity to bring scholarships to students.

Today, Version1 announced a new partnership with Cxmmunity, a nonprofit organization that strives to increase the number of people of color in the esports and gaming industry. This partnership allows historically black college and university students to gain valuable experience within the esports industry.

Version1 will be committing $25K to establish this esports scholarship program. The hope of it is to increase the representation of people of color in gaming and esports. The first $20K will be used for four $5K academic scholarships during the 2021/22 year. Meanwhile, the remaining $5K will be awarded as prize money in a Call of Duty tournament open to students competing in the HBCU Esports League.

Students can apply for the scholarship program today at version1.gg/cxmmunity until Thursday, September 30.

This is a great example of progress towards building an equitable future for the gaming industry. It's fantastic to see, especially with Version1 at the forefront of it all.
