Kacey Musgraves confirmed she's getting Butterflies from a new man.
The "Golden Hour" singer has opened up about the start of her new relationship with boyfriend and poet Cole Schafer."He did not know who I was, which I loved," Musgraves said of her new man to the New York Times in a profile published Thursday, August 26. The 33-year-old revealed they first met at a crowded restaurant where they locked eyes.
The "Butterflies" singer and Schafer first sparked dating rumors in June, when OK! reported the new flames were seen packing on the PDA in New York City shortly after her spring fling with Nashville doctor Gerald Onuoha.
The new coupling comes over a year after she and ex-husband Ruston Kelly filed for divorce last July following their almost four-year marriage.
Meanwhile, she and Schafer appear to be going strong and not hiding their romance. After their summer sighting, Schafer — who goes by the pen name January Black — posted a black-and-white Polaroid of the two and adorably captioned the pic: “I’m trying like hell not to write about her.”
The poet hasn't shied away from sharing his affection, with him most recently gushing over the brunette beauty on her birthday. “Here’s to you looking to your right when you stepped into F***,” Schafer captioned the romantic black and white photos of the two and one Polaroid shot of Musgraves. "Here’s to you writing me back. Here’s to your jawline that chaps my lips and your hair I can’t keep my hands out of."
He continued to praise the "Space Cowboy" singer, writing: "Here’s to your aesthetic and your art being a close second to your heart. Here’s to you making it through thirty-two and here’s to you making history in thirty-three. It’s been so damn pretty falling for you, Kacey."
Musgraves responded in the comment section while calling the handsome hunk her "Sweet angel boo."
"Life is so much prettier with you in it," she wrote.
Before Musgraves confirmed her new relationship, an insider told OK! she is "excited" to see where their new romance goes, "but she's not rushing things." It seems their romance went in the right direction, given that she confirmed they were official one month later.
The source also touched on her previous relationship with Kelly, explaining Musgraves "doesn’t blame him for the demise of their relationship," but felt it "wasn’t the right place for her and she felt like she needed a fresh start."
