How to display the Mona Lisa and other masterpieces from the Louvre in your living room thanks to your TV

Samsung has partnered with the Louvre Museum to bring its most iconic works to the Art Store, a library of images accessible on all of its connected TVs in The Frame range. This means that it's now possible to display the Mona Lisa on your living room wall, as part of your everyday goings-on.

In developing The Frame, Samsung's goal was to bring art into its users' homes. And so when the TV is on standby, the Art mode allows it to display, via the Art Store, more than 1,500 works of art from different periods that are found in the collections of world-renowned museums and galleries such as the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam or the Prado Museum in Madrid. The Louvre is now the first French museum to offer its works in the Art Store, making them available to all owners of The Frame TVs around the world.

At its launch 40 works are available and 20 more will be added by the end of October. Among those already "available" are the "Mona Lisa" and "The Wedding Feast at Cana," as well as various works from the most beautiful rooms of the museum and its surroundings (Louvre Pyramid, Tuileries Garden, etc.).

Launched in 2017, The Frame is a TV that stands out for its unique and customizable design. Placed on the wall, it looks almost like a traditional painting, with a thickness of just 24.9 mm. And to make the illusion almost perfect, the screen is connected to a remote One Connect box via a single translucent cable.

Displaying the Mona Lisa on your wall comes, however, at a cost. The Frame range of televisions, available from 32 to 75 inches, starts at US$999 and goes to $2999. As for the Art Store, it is accessible via a monthly subscription priced at 5 dollars.
